Former OMOD® Board Member Wins Award at Black History Month Celebration.

Ontario March of Dimes - Media | News Room volunteering with and for marginalized people for more than 30 years. In the early 80’s prior to becoming a person with a disability herself, she ensured that the then new legislation, to include children with disabilities into mainstream schools, was interpreted in a way that genuinely addressed the needs of the children she represented as a school trustee in Hamilton, ON.

Supreme Court Case Decision – Victory for Immigrants with Disability. The Supreme Court of Canada rendered its decision in the cases of Hilewitz v. Minister of Citizenship and Immigration and de Jong v. Minister of Citizenship and Immigration. The decision is a victory for persons with disabilities and their families, and establishes that immigrants with disabilities can become valued members of Canadian society
